LI WEI'S BODY OF ART
L'art chinois s'est rapidement déplacé de la sculpture et de la peinture à la performance, l'art photographique et vidéo. Beaucoup d'artistes avant-gardistes utilisent le corps humain comme toile de fond et dans le processus de création de l'art conceptuel, qui est alors capturé, et même renforcée par la photographie et la vidéo. Les travaux de l'artiste LI Wei mélange de manières incomparable, l'art performance et la photographie.
Il utilise son propre corps pour produire des œuvres à la fois troublantes et provocatrices voire même comiques. Li Wei ne présente pas l'imagerie traditionnelle, il s'attarde davantage sur le contexte social : mondialisation de la Chine, de l'environnement en constante évolution urbaine, préoccupations plus personnelles comme l'amour, la famille, le bonheur et la déception.
